v84.s92.f98.r92.h89.p88
Underwaters Have improved signifigantly
Looking to use our new Speed Charts to more consitently build endurance and pacing
The second 50 of our 100s
The middle 50s of our 200s
They were very sore from Fridays dryland
Lots of broad jumps and on leg hops up and down legth of building outside
Tells me we should do more of this
Two Sets we had done in the past were requested from the swimmers
~1:30 10 x 50 OTB FAST (now the goal would be based on speed chart, probably Hard Speed)
Ts at First yellow - so you have to push the UW off the wall
Tower Set from Saturday May 25th
Strokes where big and efficient - swimmers were catching water with great bodyline
Focusing on high hips through the Y and as you drive/strike on the breaststroke round
Work on fast TIRED breaststroke - specifally after backstroke in the IM
Even our best breaststrokers were struggling with the breaststroke in the IM
It is challenging and a different sort of fatigue than you might face in the 3rd 50 of the 200 breast for example
tired from fly and back, having to reorient from swimming on your back to your front while changing drirections and movemebt of arms, legs and core/center
Our 2nd 50s of our 100s and middle 50s of our 200s need work
Speed Chart should help
repeats holding a specific goal time
General endurance
v22.s30.f29.r28.h19.p27
Note: No practice Monday (Holiday) or Saturday (Meet), so current data is for 2 less days of practice
Speed Chart Sets were great
Having a goal time to reach for one pretty much every set made a positive difference
Pushed Ts to - Push to 5 yards + 20 buoys
was great - cant tell a difference in training, they can still attack sets
Note: with the Ts at more than 6 yards, each lap has a considrable hypoxic component

Next Meet - 6/01 - 6/02, CDOG Qualifier
Goals: Chart sets, volume, get closer to Paces, hypoxic
More Hard Speed & Last Speed (Test Chart)
Ramp it up Monday, Tuesday, Thurday
Towers Friday
Pace Set Wednesday LCM
Continue UW momentum
Push to 5 yards + 20 buoys
Note: we did less hypoxic than last week
increase this week
Also Note: We had 2 more days to train this week - no meet
Also Note: about half the group was gone wed-sat for the DC field trip

v3.7s7.9f3.9r7h4.4p5.6
Second 50s of our 100s were very weak
Second 50s were mostly between +4 to +6
More goal pace work
This will be more like SP1 at first
More Enduracnce/Volume (EN2 - SP1)
Stroke Counts
Stroke count work the last couple weeks was very effective
Swimmers handles long course races much better
UW off blocks
Still coming up short off the blocks
More kick count OTB work
Backstroke Kick
Toes to the surface on backstroke
More work needed
Meet Fri-Sun
v16.s17.f20.r18.h24.p15
Next Meet - 6/01 - 6/02, CDOG Qualifier
Goals:
Continue to Work Stroke Count
more speed with stroke count
Start Pace
Traditional 200 Pace set
with stroke count requirements
General Endurance - More yards w/ less rest
Our second 50s were weak in our 100s
Pace sets will help with this too (~EN3 - SP1)
EN2 - SP1?
Continue UW momentum
Hold at 5 yards + 16 buoys for atlesast another week - they are struggling with it

Next Meet - 5/17 - 5/19, WHAT Trials finals
Goals:
Continue to build hypoxic endurance
8 x 25 on :20 with 2 breaths has been a great set for this. They have not all made it yet
Not so concerned with hypoxic power yet
Continue SC focus from last week.
last week we did not mark it up too much. Maybe we will be ready towards the end of this week
Continue UW momentum
Distance meet yesterday
Plan:
Hypoxic Volume
Stroke count
Fly specific SC

Stroke Count
v8.1s6.7f3.5r3.1h4p4
Plan:
SC 25s
25s pull hit SC
25s w/ little rest and 5+ UW hit SC-2?
v6.8s4f4r1.8h6.8p3.9
Plan:
25s counting stroke and giving me avg - watch everryone and make sure I'm okay with that avg
v2.8s2f3r7h2p2.4
Stroke Counts are too high - we need to do a better job with distance per stroke in order to excel LCM
Establish Stroke Counts (SC) for each stroke on individual basis (Monday)
work those stroke counts at different efforts
Mark-Up (variataion of training up)
Adding just alittle bit of resistance and hitting the stroke count
too much resistance (a full chute) will make it too difficult to hit SC
Pull
generally don't want them to be pull driven - most SC should be done with kick
More UW off blocks
they were worried about going past 15m on their starts
we practice a lot of uw from the walls but not enough OTB
Kick toes to the surface on backstroke
Head-lead kick on back - look at toes, see the boil the surface
SL Kick - boil the surface
More UW endurance
400+ efforts with lots of fly kicks
lots of repeats with little rest with lots of fly kicks
v23.s28.f26.r22.h23.p4
Next Meet - 5/17 - 5/19, WHAT Trials finals
Goals:
+hypoxic endurance
+hypoxic power
